Column: Detroit’s not No. 1 for bedbugs

“Outta’ My Mind on a Monday Moanin’”

‘We’re not No. 1!” And that’s a good thing. Pest control company Orkin has released it’s annual list of the Top 50 Bed Bug Cities.

No. 1? Baltimore.

Followed by: Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, Columbus, Ohio, Cincinnati, Detroit, New York, San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose and No. 10, Dallas-Fort Worth.

With all due respect to the provider of the stats, around here it might be time to call Rose (Pest Solutions).

“It’s big, really big! Royal Caribbean brand new Symphony of the Seas, the world’s biggest cruise ship by volume and passengers. A floating city of 9,000 people!

With the fastest internet at sea (how things have changed!), “the most culinary options at sea” (22 restaurants with over 300 menu items), the tallest slide at sea, etc. If you tip the ship on it’s end (which I don’t recommend) this behemoth would be taller than the Eiffel Tower.

Call my friend Stewart Chiron, affectionately known as “The Cruise Guy” on radio and TV, at 1-800-700-3881 or online at CruiseGuy.com. He was just on board the ship for its maiden voyage.

This Thursday, the Ted Lindsay Foundation will host its annual Wine Tasting event to benefit Autism Research and Education programs.

Celebrity Wine Pourers, strolling dinner and dessert stations, silent auction, cash bar available from 6-9 p.m. at the San Marino Club at 1685 E. Big Beaver in Troy.

Also this Thursday our little Sophia Marie Smith celebrates her birthday. My birthday is April 18, and Sophie was born the day after I turned 50. Soph’s turning 15. I, of course, will still be 50.
