Harper Woods police are seeking tips to find a driver in a hit-and-run Thursday that left a pedestrian injured.
A man was crossing at the Harper and Bournemouth crosswalk about 3 p.m. when a northbound truck struck him, authorities said in a statement.
The driver "stopped briefly then backed up and fled the scene through the Family Food parking lot," the release read.
The victim, identified as a resident in his 50s, was hospitalized in serious condition Thursday evening, police reported.
The suspect's vehicle is described as green Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Series pickup with a single cab and a white-and-blue Michigan license plate. It has an aluminum toolbox in the bed and front-end damage from the collision, investigators said.
The driver is described as a white male with blonde hair.
