A Port Huron Township man has been charged with child pornography and criminal sexual conduct after St. Clair County authorities allege he abused youths as young as 4 months old.

This year, an acquaintance of Nicholas Michael Belkiewicz found what he believed to be child porn in his home and called the Sheriff’s Office, investigators said in a statement Tuesday.

Detectives obtained search warrants and found hundreds of sexually explicit images and videos on a device inside his home, according to the release.

“The victims that Belkiewicz is accused of abusing range in age from 4 months to 11 years old,” sheriff’s officials reported. “It is believed he had been conducting this abuse for over a year. It is believed all of his victims were relatives or children of friends.”

Belkiewicz, 27, was arraigned Feb. 4 in Port Huron’s 72nd District Court on three counts of child sexually abusive activity; one count of using computers to commit a crime; and one count of possession of child sexually abusive material.

During a probable-cause conference Tuesday, authorities added more charges: five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under age 13 and three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13.

Belkiewicz is being held in the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center on a $1 million bond. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday before 72nd District Court Judge Cynthia Platzer.
